InterneXt offer a range of services covering the whole internet service spectrum. From simple dialup access to electronic design for specialized projects (do you need to know whether everything is in order at your home, office or factory? We can get the info to you anywhere in the world instantly!) There are many ways in which the internet can improve our productivity. We spend a lot of time working on these ways. Read on:

Mailing List Hosting & Services
Do you often need to send out and receive a number of emails to and from your clients, partners or suppliers? There is a much more effective method than using your overworked dialup connection and email software. Mailing Lists are the answer! They can be open (any member can send to it - to all other members) and serve as a multi directional communication tool (ideal for discussion groups) Or otherwise they can be closed (i.e. only you, the list owner, can send messages to the members) Open groups can be moderated or unmoderated, which means the list owner has the option of editing all messages that get posted by its members. They can even be set to automatically respond to specific queries from its members. We have also (with the help of the ZA Email Database and ZA Worm Search Engine) built up a substantial database of Southern African email adresses which we can use to populate your mailing list with relevant email adresses. Our charges for hosting of a mailing list are as follows:

  • Setup fee : R500
  • Monthly Hosting : R300 per month

    Website Hosting
This service goes hand in hand with Website Design. Once your pages are designed and you are happy with them we will gladly host them on our webservers. That is: we will make them available to the world from our site. Our costs are as follows:

  • Monthly Website Hosting Fee : R125-40 per month *

    * Note that this fee entitles you to an hour per month support. We will edit and maintain your website on request at no further cost.

    Domain Registration and Hosting
Does your url look something like 'http://machine_name.domain_name.co.za/clients/ users/pages/subdir/mypage.htm'? It is pretty easy changing it to 'http://www.mypage.co.za'. But you had better hurry. Each domain in the world is unique, and if 'mypage.co.za' is already taken, you'll have to settle for another. Added to this, your e-mail accounts become something like me@mypage.co.za. Costs consist of:

  • Initial registration and setup fee of R399-00 (co.za)*
  • Monthly hosting fee of R62-70.

    * Please enquire about the registration of any other domains (.com, .org, .co.uk etc.)

    File Transfer Protocol Hosting
In the case where you would like to have access to a (private or public) site on the net for the up and downloading of information we offer FTP hosting. This is especially handy if you prefer to maintain and edit your web pages yourself (for instance) or if you need to make information that changes a lot (such as a price list of your products) available. Along wwith your FTP access you are issued with a username and password enabling ONLY you to have full access to your FTP/Web Site. Costs involved are as follows:

  • Monthly hosting fee of R62-70.

    Website Design and Database Integration
When it comes to designing a website, or developing an integrated database for your specific needs, look no further than our dynamic team of designers. The ZA Email Database, ZA Web Database, ZA Worm, ZA Event Calendar and DESWEB (click on the button bar at the top of this page for a preview of these) are just some of our public projects.

Our rates are also highly competitive:

  • HTML Programming : R 200-00/hour
  • CGI/ASP Programming : R 250-00/hour
  • Graphic Design : R 150-00/hour

    Dial up Access
Currently we offer two options for dial up access.

  • Dialup to InterNext's private servers.

A connection to InterNext's private network includes SLIP/CSLIP and PPP access, one e-mail account as well as 100 KBytes of WWW space (non-commercial use). Our servers are located in Bloemfontein, Welkom, Kimberley and Kroonstad. The option comprises of a monthly subscription of R110-00. (VAT included)
The service includes free telephone support and backup service for client computers delivered to one of our service sites. Callouts are charged at R125.00 (maximum 2½ hours) and R125/hr afterwards.

Since the access networks under this option are directly controlled by InterNext, special services can provided at no further cost. These include limited access control (i.e access allowed only at certain times), cellular phone notification of e-mail reception (Vodacom only) as well as network stability information.

  • Dialup via public access Points of Presence (POP).

This connection includes a roaming PPP dialup account as well as one e-mail account. The cost of this connection is R 80.00 (VAT included)

Click here to see our current list of points of presence.

The service includes free telephone support. Backup service for client computers delivered to one of our service sites is charged at R100 while callouts are charged at R175.00 (maximum 2½ hours) and R175/hr afterwards. Please note that local and callout support is not available at all the POP sites. We are adding this support on an ongoing basis.

    Industrial and Electronic Design

InterneXt also specialises in the design of microprocessor circuits that are used as data loggers, industrial data acquisition and radio frequency (RF) circuitry. The company is also well known for its software integration and writes a host of its in-house SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software.

What does this have to do with the Internet? In this day of Intranets and the Internet, many of InterneXt's products are IP ready. What this means is that many of the products can be used on networks that employ the use of the Internet Protocol TCP/IP. For example, the data logger is a standard data logger that can measure various industrial signals. The logger is typically installed in the field and normally the logged data is acessible via portable PC. InterneXt's logger does all this but can also be connected to a telephone line via modem. Instead of hauling a notebook PC to the data logger to retrieve data it can be phoned instead. Several standard loggers from other vendors can also do this. The logger is different in that it can also be configured to monitor the signals that it is measuring and initiate data calls should one or more measured signals be detected as out of acceptable range. Under such conditions, it can initiate a telephone call to a InterNeXt Internet server and update a page on the WWW. This connection to the Internet also allows the transmission of the detected signal to e-mail accounts and the South African cellular network.

This is just one example. InterneXt's SCADA packages are all designed to offer WWW Server compatibility. What this means is that if you have a SCADA package running on a computer monitoring your plant or other realtime information, the SCADA will work in conjunction with a WWW Server to make the SCADA pictures and information available via the WWW. This is exceptionally useful in Intranet applications.

What can this offer you? If your company has a company Intranet or is connected to the Internet, the InterNeXt team can make your realtime information and/or databases available via the WWW. For more information, please email us.
